In typical Friday fashion, today I’m sharing my very favorite items from around the web in food, healthy living, restaurants, fashion, and more!
Woah–how is it already Friday? (Not that I’m complaining.) I had every intention of popping in and posting mid-week, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. I’ve been so exhausted and, well, not all that motivated this week. I’m just going to take a step back and accept the fact that we all have off weeks. Time to reset next week.
I’m been really soaking up these last few weeks of August with days at the beach (see the beautiful picture above). I love walking on the trail alongside the sea, watching all of the boats bobbing up and down and admiring the gleaming reflection of the sky on the water. That was this past Saturday and it was amazing.
This upcoming weekend, Andrew (my husband) and I are heading to Saratoga, NY, for a long wedding weekend. We’re renting a house with friends and have quite the jam-packed agenda: paying a visit to the races at the Saratoga Race Track, a Zac Brown Band concert, and of course the wedding the following day at the Hall of Springs. It should be a great way to unwind and celebrate the last “official” weekend of summer! But before the weekend commences, today I’m sharing my favorites from this past week in my usual Friday style.
All the hummus. Nothing entirely revolutionary here, but hummus has made a major comeback in my life. I used to eat it all of the time as a snack and I can’t remember why I ever stopped. I’ve always been more of a savory than a sweet eater (although things have definitely evened out more in recent years for better or worse), and this snack is perfect to satisfy that. Plus it’s packed with protein and available in so many awesome flavors, which is the real reason why it has my heart. A few of my favorites are the Tomato Basil hummus and Roasted Garlic hummus at Trader Joe’s.
Healthy muffin + egg breakfasts. I’m obsessed with eating two scrambled eggs with salt, pepper, and just a sprinkle of pesto gouda along with one of my healthy Whole Wheat Blueberry Zucchini Muffins. <– If you haven’t checked out the recipe, make these now! They’re bursting with juicy berries and melt in your mouth.

Mushroom + garlic butter ravioli. OK, more precisely, I need this Wild Mushroom Mezzaluna with Garlic Butter Sauce from Spoon Fork Bacon in my life. Do I really need to say more?
Healthy + easy meatball recipe. These Zucchini Turkey Meatballs look great and perfect for Sunday meal prep.
Caramelized onion + roasted garlic bisque. This soup recipe sounds insane. I’m definitely feeling a liiittle more into fall.
On-the-go snacks registered dieticians swear by. Always great getting healthy snack ideas, especially when they come from RDs!
GoFundMe page for Hurricane Harvey. GoFundMe created a single page for various individual campaigns related to Hurricane Harvey. Check it out! A lot of larger organizations are inundated with donations right now and this is a nice way to spread the funds directly to those in need.
On body positivity. Good read about learning to love yourself despite your imperfections (everyone’s got them). Love this: “One day in your life it will become easier to love yourself than hate yourself and I promise that day will come, as long as you believe it’s possible,” she wrote.”
