In typical Friday fashion, today I’m sharing my very favorite items from around the web in food, healthy living, restaurants, fashion, and more! This post may contain affiliate links.
How has everyone’s week been? I’ve had a little extra pep in my step because I’ve been immersed in all things holiday. There, I said it. I’m talking baking a fresh loaf of cranberry banana bread (recipe coming to the blog soon!), ordering gifts left and right online (I literally just received 2 packages and am expecting at least 5 more), and drinking Christmasy teas. Oh, and burning the amazing candle you see above that smells just like marshmallows and firewood. Tis the season?
I’m not sure what this weekend will bring just yet, but I’m totally okay with that knowing that next week will be spent with my in-laws on Thanksgiving day. After the feast, Andrew and I will be hosting my brother-in-law, Adam, and his girlfriend, so that should be fun. Before I set off, I thought I’d drop by to share a few things that have been on my radar this week. Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!
Mint chocolate RX bars. I spotted this seasonally appropriate flavor of RX bars during my Saturday food shopping run and grabbed two to try. Verdict: YUM! They’re soft and chewy and taste sort of like a mint-spiked brownie. This might just be one of top favorite flavors, right up there with chocolate sea salt and my other personal favorite, blueberry. (If you’ve never tried one before, they’re extremely clean bars made with only whole foods and no iffy ingredients. I love keeping a few on hand in my desk at work.)
Beautycounter face wash. I’ve been using Beautycounter’s Nourishing Cream Cleanser to take off my makeup at night and loving it. The wash is super creamy and doesn’t make my face feel dehydrated like so many other cleansers out there do. Plus, I like knowing it’s free of scary ingredients.
By the way, friends – if you’d like to give anything from Beautycounter a try, my social with Anneliese of Your Core Wellness is still open! You can place an order here and be sure to select “The Petite Chef” social when checking out. They have some pretty awesome stuff, and I’m not a consultant or anything. 🙂
Cranberry banana bread. After I found myself with FOUR perfectly ripe bananas earlier this week, I whipped up a healthy banana bread made with gluten-free flour (purchased at Trader Joe’s), cranberries, coconut oil, and honey (and other typical banana bread ingredients, too).
It turned out SO well- the pop of tartness from the cranberries balanced perfectly with the sweet bananas, and the texture was soft and a little crumbly in the best way, almost like a cake. I’ll share the recipe on the blog soon, promise!
