Hey, friends! It’s Friday at last. I could not be more excited to get this weekend started. In honor of Memorial Day, the first official weekend of SUMMER (the best season by far – not debatable, sorry), I thought it would be fun to mix up my second-ever Friday Favorites (see last week’s here if you missed it) and share 5 things I’m loving for the warmer weather: food, drinks, must-make recipes, and more.
Without further ado, here are my picks. I hope you all have a fun-filled and relaxing weekend (hopefully a long one!), and many thanks to our veterans and active-duty military who gave up (and continue to give up) so much for our country.
1. Summer Chickpea Salad with Honey Garlic Lime Vinaigrette (via How Sweet Eats)
This chickpea dish is seriously delicious: the honey sauce and lime complement each other perfectly. I love serving it alongside grilled fare such as burgers or grilled chicken during the warmer summer months. I’ve made it for just my husband and I to enjoy and for a crowd—and it was a smashing hit both times!
2. Miso Shrimp Burgers (via MyRecipes)
Um, yum! I’ve always been huge on seafood, and these are just calling my name. Shrimp in burger form? Sign me up! These may need to happen this weekend.
3. Individual Frozen Key Lime Pies (via This Silly Girl’s Kitchen)
Does this one really need much more explanation? If you’re looking for the perfect dessert to make this weekend, this is the one.
4. Grilled Nectarine Salad (via The Pioneer Woman)
I’ve been seeing grilled fruit all over the web: grilled nectarines, grilled peaches, grilled avocado. This salad looks like a perfectly sweet and refreshing take on the trend.
I spotted this baby on the shelf while picking up something else I needed at Stop & Shop a few weekends ago. It’s fruity and refreshing—and who doesn’t love all things rose come summer? Add a few ice cubes and some mint for a refreshing afternoon beverage you can enjoy on the porch (or at least, that’s what I did). I want to try the watermelon flavor next!
