In typical Friday fashion, today I’m sharing my very favorite items from around the web in food, healthy living, restaurants, fashion, and more! This post may contain affiliate links.
Are you guys all ready for the holidays? I’ve been running around for the past two weeks (this is THE craziest time of year at my office job, where I’m an editor, if you didn’t already know), but I’m almost out of the woods. I didn’t mean to completely disappear from the blog lately, but that coupled with a minor cold/sore throat completely wiped me out.
Despite those setbacks, I’m actually in pretty great shape as far as holiday prep goes. Gifts are all wrapped and ready to go (but NOT under the tree because my cat likes to eat tissue paper as a snack). And I made a fresh batch of cookies earlier this afternoon. In other words, I’m officially ready to get the show on the road. I think I’m going to do just a little more baking over the new few days, though – I’m eyeing these white chocolate peppermint cookies. Um, YUM.
Today I actually have the day off work and I’m heading into the city (that’s NYC, for those of you outside the area) with Andrew to catch an off-Broadway show and enjoy a fancy lunch. More on that later, but it should be a lot of fun! FYI: I’m going to be signing off for a few days around Christmas to enjoy some time with family, but I hope you each have a wonderful and festive few days! Before I go, I thought it’d be fun to share a roundup of a few things that have been making me smile this week – ’tis the season.
Candy cane green tea. This perfectly minty tea is back at Trader Joe’s for a limited time and you bet I snagged a box right off the shelves as soon as I spotted it. I really like the mix of peppery mint with earthy green tea. Bonus: it’s decaffeinated, so I can enjoy a cup in the afternoon without staying up all night.
Festive new stockings. I finally caved and purchased a pair of personalized plaid stockings from Pottery Barn. I grabbed them while they were running a sale and decided to have our names embroidered in a pretty script font. I know we’ll have them for a long time, so I think it was worth it! Ours look to be sold out, but other options are available here.
Classic sugar cookies. I asked my husband what kind of cookies I should make, and his answer was “sugar and butter cookies.” I didn’t realize that was a cookie type (ha!) but knew he wanted classic sugar cookies. I tend to go a little crazy sometimes and make more elaborate flavor varieties, but I settled for these and they hit the spot with a cup of tea. There’s nothing like sugar cookies around Christmas time.
Macaron kit. Woah – this kit is pretty awesome and I kind of want to get it. But then I’d eat macarons on a weekly basis. Is that good or bad?
